Beef Okonomiyaki

- 1 piece of steak
- finely chopped vegetables: half pointed cabbage, spring onion, garlic
- 1 egg
- flour or special okonomiyaki mix
- mayonnaise

  1. mix vegetables, egg and flour together until it turns into a thickened mixture
  2. pour and shape on a shallow pan
  3. cook on medium heat until the mixture becomes firm, flip and cook the other side
  4. in the meantime, cook the steak - 4 mins on either side for rare-medium, rest it on the chopping board, add sea salt/pepper, cut into small squares
  5. place the cooked pancake on a plate - to check, insert a stick to check, it should come out clean
  6. place beef cubs on top

beef lasagna

400g beef mince
250g tomato sauce (chunks or mixture of paste and sauce)
1 chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp fennel seed
2 tbsp chopped parsley
salt & pepper to season
6-8 lasagna sheets - soaked for at least 15 mins
2 cups mozzarella

Cheese filling / white sauce
300g ricotta cheese
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 egg
2 tsp parsley

1. fry onion and garlic in some oil until lightly browned, add minced beef
2. when beef looks cooked (no blood on the meat), add the tomato sauce
3. stir in sugar, fennel seed, parsley in to the meat sauce
Simmer for 20 mins

White sauce:
1. mix ricotta cheese with nutmeg
2. add an egg and parsley and blend with a whisker

Layering and baking
1. line the bottom of the lasagna dish with meat sauce
2. place sheets of lasagna on top of the meat sauce
3. cheese filling and a thin layer of mozzarella

Cover with foil and bake at 170c for 20 mins
Uncover and bake a further 20 mins

meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta

Ingredients:
500g minced beef
3 cloves of garlic, fined chopped
tomato chunks
2 tbsp ginger powder
1 egg yellow
finely chopped parsley
1 finely chopped onion

To make the meatballs:
1. mix ginger, parsley, garlic, egg yellow into the minced beef, shape with hands
2. heat the pan with some olive oil, fry the onion until slightly browned, add tomato chunks on medium heat until it starts to cook
3. shape the meatball with your hands, fry in a separate pan until until browned and cooked through
4. serve with tomato sauce and grated parmasan

beef curry

1 tsp oil
beef chunks
coconut milk
1 thinly sliced onion, 3 grated gloves of garlic
3 tsp curry powder

Fry the beef until lightly browned, set aside. Now fry the onion, garlic, add the curry powder and coconut milk, stir until all are mixed together, then add the beef. Cook on low heat for an hour.

water spinach and bbq beef


Taiwanese dish: 空心菜炒沙茶牛肉

Water spinach
200g beef, sliced and marinate in soy souce
2 cloves of garlic
1 tsp walnut oil

Grease frying pan with walnut oil, fry beef on medium heat until browned, set aside. Add the garlic and fry for one minute, then add the waterspinach and cook until softened. Mix with beef.
